GRZ Technologies and PowiDian Energy have forged a strategic partnership to expand the availability and application of advanced hydrogen storage and compression solutions. This collaboration, formalized with a signing at the Hyvolution exhibition in Paris, combines GRZ’s innovative metal hydride technology with PowiDian’s expertise in integrating hydrogen systems for a wide range of clients.
Integrating Metal Hydride Technology into Diverse Applications
PowiDian Energy, an established EPC/integrator of electricity production systems and energy storage solutions since 2013, utilizes its SAGES® technology to transform intermittent renewable energy into readily available power. The company offers solutions for off-grid sites, backup power, temporary power needs, and carbon footprint reduction, with a strong focus on hydrogen-based systems.
Through this partnership, PowiDian Energy will integrate GRZ’s long-duration metal hydride solid-state hydrogen storage technology into its offerings, expanding its capabilities to include residential, industrial, and large-scale applications. GRZ’s containerized, energy-dense storage solutions (DASH series), with capacities ranging from 45 to 675 kgH2 and densities up to 30 kgH2 per m3 per module, provide a compact, safe, and scalable solution.
Expanding into Hydrogen Compression with HyCo Technology
In addition to integrating GRZ’s storage solutions, PowiDian Energy will also distribute GRZ’s innovative HyCo hydrogen compressor. The HyCo utilizes a novel thermochemical process, leveraging thermal energy instead of mechanical energy, to achieve a lower levelized cost of compression with minimal maintenance and noise-free operation. This technology is particularly well-suited for industrial applications, including trailer refueling and chemical plants.
This partnership represents a significant step forward in making advanced hydrogen technologies more accessible and adaptable to diverse energy needs, furthering the shared vision of both companies for a sustainable energy future.
